The Singer Affair
In my first foray into non-fiction memoir, I've got an essay up on the book page of The Huffington Post. It's called "The Singer Affair" and you can check it out here.I thought it might be fun to share scans of a few of the supporting materials that go with the post. Here's a scan of the first paragraph of one of the short stories I mention, "Sunstroke and Seduction:"
And here are Brett's comments on my final story for the quarter:
Here's a scan of the cover of The Petting Zoo:
And here we have the back cover with Brett Singer's picture:
And, finally, the relevant snippet from page 89:

It's so funny and touching, Mark, the supporting materials included. I can understand your need to impress Ms. Singer, especially after seeing her photo.
Oh, the silly things we do when young (and old...er ;).
Thanks for the kind words, Elizabeth!

So where is Brett now? I knew her when she was in her mid- to late- 30s. And more beautiful then, btw, than in her earlier jacket cover that you post. She was teaching at Penn State while we were friends, then Memphis and then I lost track of her. I've been waiting way too long for her to publish another book. Thanks!
Kim, I'm afraid I don't know where Brett is now. I did see an interview from her in a school paper where she was teaching from around 2000, but that is the last thing I found.
